Banda de Turistas was formed in 2006 in their hometown of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Their music is Rock en Español with a retro touch. Described by the New York Times as “mid-1960s garage rock and psychedelic,” that “takes post-punk, garage rock and avant-garde to new heights”. We agree that they have a sort of old school vibe which we are really enjoying.
This group has caught the ear of rock icon Babasonicos frontman Adrian Dargelos as well as Pulp’s legendary vocalist Jarvis Cocker, who’s asked them to open several shows in Buenos Aires.
The highly anticipated new album Ya was released February 28, 2012 from Nacional Records and is the follow-up to their U.S. debut Magical Radiophonic Heart, which earned the band a Latin Grammy nomination.
