Salvadorian designer, Oscar Fierro, came into the spotlight on last weeks premiere of Fashion Star, with host Elle Macpherson and Judges Nicole Richie, Jessica Simpson & John Varvatos. The outspoken ‘pint-sized’ fashion designer made a big impression with judges and contestants alike. But some might say it was not in a good way. In this episode Oscar boldly states “I’m here to win. I’m here to become famous.” he also goes on to say “I certainly know I’m better than everyone else”. On his facebook he says he’s already had people hating on him and wishing he would die… But Oscar is a though cookie and he’s got his supporters to back him up. We think this is going to get interesting!
The first week of the competition, the challenge was to design their own signature pieces that represented them as fashion designers. Oscar was within the last three at risk to be eliminated, but luckily was saved by the judges because of his personality and passion for continuing.
As a clever twist to this competition, Macy’s, H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue get to bid against each other over their favorite runway looks. By the next day you’re able to purchase the looks from each of the retailer’s websites. The second episode of nbc’s Fashion Star in on tonight at 10pm.
