There has been a great buzz on President Obama’s speech last week where he announced that no student will be deported. This is not the Dream Act but it will help Dreamers who have been waiting for years for this law to pass and somehow it always gets put on the back burner, as if no one cared for all the millions of children that are brought to this country against their will and without knowledge that their dreams will not come true in this country. They are brought here without knowing that the american dream is not for them, and that no matter how good they do in school or how hard they work they will never be recognized or be allowed to work here legally. Hopefully this will change soon, we think this is a step in a right direction.
There are hundreds of DREAMers and their stories are so compelling that we’re glad that for once the Dream Act is being recognized by the president of the United States of America as “The right thing to do”. This new policy will allow students age 16 – 30 with clean criminal records to stay in this country and receive work permits that will help them contribute to their communities through work, education, and military duty.

Even though this will only allow employment authorization for two years, it is a huge step forward to this broken immigration system.
