We here at Latin Recap have had a pleasantly eventful week at the Latin Alternative Music Conference, aka LAMC. We enjoyed concerts at SummerStage and Celebrate Brooklyn, discussion panels, and especially our personal one on ones with the bands and artist themselves. Music is a very important part of Latin American culture. It’s one of our exceptional traits that has many Latinos striving in the entertainment industry today. LAMC has been a godsend in taking this community and placing it on a platform that continues to elevate closer to the stars.
From Chile to Dominican Republic, indie as well as major artists all came together in NYC to network, promote and celebrate their work, while catching up with the rest of industry’s goings-on. The common topic of the conference was, “Cuanto ha crecido el movimiento de el LAMC”. We got perspective from Ritmo Machine, Los Auténticos Decadentes, and La Vida Boheme to some exciting conference new comers like Adrianigual and 3Ball MTY. The real icing on el bizcocho was a special appearance from Calle 13 and Tego Calderon, who showed strong support in this movement.
Interview after interview artist agree LAMC has turned from an underground networking source to a revolution in bringing Latin America’s finest music present in the US. 2012 is now their 13th year, with this lucky 13 we only anticipate more years of growth and success for them. It is truly inspiring no matter what part of the entertainment industry you’re in.
