Jennifer and Marc clothing line

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony clothing line at Kohl’s

This fall not only can you dress like one of the most influential fashion icons Jennifer Lopez but you can also decorate your home with her new home line. The line is set to be easy, comfortable and glamorous as the diva herself. Check out some of her favorite picks on the site as well as accessories and some comfy PJ’s. As we mentioned before in another post, not only is Jennifer launching the line so is her soon to be ex-husband Marc Anthony. Even thou there were rumors that the lines were going to be cancelled due to their separation, Kohl’s assured that the lines where a go. Now we don’t know if the lines where a joint venture to begin with, but as of now on the Kohl’s website they are presented as two separate collections.

“This fall is all about elegant and refined styles such as classic silhouettes paired with edgy Hollywood influences like metallics and faux-fur.”

“The Marc Anthony collection captures the passion and romance of the musician and the sexy, earthy style of the man.”

Check out both lines at:

william levy

William Levi to launch women’s clothing line

William Levi might be benefiting from all the publicity he is getting for the alleged affair with Jennifer Lopez. Since Jlo and Marc announced their separation the tabloids have centered their assumptions to William, since they had hot beach scenes in Jlo’s “I’m into you” video. Jennifer says it was just “good acting”… William Levi the Cuban born telenovela actor has ventured into new films and fashion. He is now launching a women’s clothing line which it set to start with accessories. We wonder if Jlo has any advice for William since she has her own fashion empire and is also set to launch her clothing line with Marc for Kohl’s. Look for the lines in Kohl’s stores and on beginning in the fall of 2011!

Just in case you missed Jlo’s video with William Levy here it is again…

Ricky as Che

Ricky Martin as El Che!

Ricky Martin will be returning to Broadway as El Che in the musical Evita. Joining him is Argentine actress Elena Roger taking on the role of Eva Perón. She received great reviews playing the role of Evita in the 2006 revival of the show in London. This will be the actresses Broadway debut. Evita is planned for April 2012 at the Nederlander theater in New York City. Ricky originally made his theater debut in 1996 as French student Marius in Les Misérables. The theatrical version of Evita has been revived in Spain and London; and will now be returning to New York after many years. We are excited to see Ricky Martin, an international Latin pop icon playing such an important role. We hope Ricky and Elena impress the critics with this production.

Ricky martin had this to say about the news:

“He sido bendecido por la oportunidad de presentarme en muchos de los escenarios más importantes de todo el mundo, pero nunca he perdido mi amor por la intimidad del teatro”, dijo Ricky Martin.

“Estoy complacido de saber que además de presentar mi nueva música y hacer gira durante el próximo año, luego retornaré una vez más a Broadway.”

Director, Michael Grandage had this to say:

“It is very exciting to bring this new production of EVITA to Broadway with an Argentinean woman in the title role for the very first time.”

“With Ricky Martin joining the company, we now have an opportunity to make the production even more authentic and to celebrate Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber ‘s brilliant achievement as it comes to New York for the first time in over a quarter of a century.”

The Holy Mountain

The Holy Mountain Exhibition at MoMA PS1

We visited MoMA PS1 for a special exhibition and the first date of Alejandro Jodorowsky’s film, The Holy Mountain. Walking in at 2pm, we got there just in time to see the second showing of the movie. It was a nice experience having never been to MoMA PS1 before. Everyone did a good job directing us where to go. The movie started promptly at 2pm and there was a full house watching Jodorowsky’s film in all its holy glory.

The exhibition included a screening of the movie, a rough draft of the script (80 pages), some pictures of Jodorowsky and a set of tarot cards. As someone who has already seen the movie, I was a bit disappointed to find out there wasn’t much more. We expected to see more props, productions materials and pictures from the film, maybe even some behind the scenes footage. The person I had gone with had never seen any of Jodorowsky’s films, it was interesting to see their reaction and to hear their interpretation of the film.

One thing I can vouch for was that the movie was funnier the second time around. My favorite character is the Woman from Saturn, the manufacturer of war toys for children. This movie has a lot of symbolism some will not understand and find very strange, the film also has a lot of nudity. If you haven’t already seen this movie I highly recommend it and the exhibition if it’s in town, but first watch the trailer below.

The Holy Mountain runs through June 30 at MoMA PS1 in Long Island City, NYC

Below is an interview with Alejandro Jodorowsky where he reveals he will be directing a new film called The Dance of Reality. It is a biographical film written by him based on his book of the same name which depicts his childhood in Chile.
